YOUTH DAYS...RACING FOR THE FUTURE
The Prairie Meadows Youth Days...Racing For The Future committee would like to invite youth to attend Youth Days...Racing For The Future.  The event will be held July 30-August 2, 2008.  Prairie Meadows will host 10 youth ages 15-19 at Prairie Meadows Racetrack in Altoona, IA, for four days of fun, interactive learning on the backside of the racetrack.  Each participant will experience one-on-one mentoring with a trainer, assisting with barn duties, and helping with the training of a horse which they will see run live race during the event.

Don't miss out on your chance to participate!!  Click here to download the application form and more information.  Deadline to enter is June 1, 2008.  Last year, Mallory Greiner (IQHYA President 2008)  was a 2007 Youth Days Participant and a Scholarship Recipient.

2008 RULE CHANGES AFFECTING YEAR END AWARDS AND TEAM QUALIFYING

The youth voted to eliminate the Friday shows start time rule for IQHA approved shows. Previously, it was our rule that shows held on Fridays during the school year could not begin the youth classes until 4:00 PM. The youth have voted to eliminate this rule, allowing Friday shows to have a “normal” show schedule and still count toward year end awards and qualifying.

Any youth wishing to qualify for the 2008 AQHA Youth World Championship Show or the Congress NYATT Teams must sign and return a letter of intent (available on IQHA website or through youth advisor) and must sell a minimum of 25 AQHA FORD TRUCK RAFFLE TICKETS – information is noted on the letter of intent. Letters of intent must be filed prior to any qualifying points being earned.
