AQHYA FORD TRUCK RAFFLE TICKETS
Contact
Youth Advisor, Jennifer Horton, to get your tickets to sell. Anyone wishing to
qualify for the 2007 AQHA Youth World Show or the
Congress teams must sell at least 20 tickets. Half of
the money stays with IQHYA and half goes directly to
AQHA youth scholarships. The affiliate selling the most
tickets will receive a $1,000 bonus from AQHA! It is
YOUR responsibility to get your tickets, sell them and
return stubs and money to Jennifer before the June 25
deadline.
AQHYA
WORLD SHOW QUALIFYING
The
national qualifying period ends April 30, 2007 for the
2007 Youth World Show. Our IQHYA state qualifying period
runs June 16, 2006 through June 15, 2007. Remember, to
be eligible to state qualify, you must have paid your
IQHYA membership plus the $50 sponsorship fee and sell a
minimum of 20 Ford Truck raffle tickets and you must
still file a
letter of intent. At our annual membership
meeting, we eliminated the IQHYA qualifying classes for
showmanship, western pleasure and horsemanship so we
will be using the regular youth classes to determine
points for these classes just like the other classes. If
you have any questions about qualifying please see
Jennifer Horton.

AQHYA REGION 3
LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE TO BE RESCHEDULED
The
AQHYA youth region 3 leadership conference scheduled for February has been
cancelled/postponed until a later date due to a schedule conflict with the
Missouri AQHA Affiliate. In the interest of having as many youth from the
region 3 available for the conference, we have decided to move the conference
to a date that will work better for all the youth affiliates of region 3.

Fundraisers
Youth Scholarship Show
The April Spring Fling Show is
designated by Equine Marketing Group as a Youth Scholarship Show.
Youth are requested to help work various jobs as part of show
management as they are able and the wages will be paid as a
donation to the IQHA Dollars For $cholars program. In 2002 this
show donated $600 to the scholarship program so we need IQHYA
Members to pitch in and help the cause. Contact Youth Advisor,
Jennifer Horton, if you can help at this show - April 4-6 in Cedar
Rapids. You can work around your show schedule!
April Iowa Spring Fling Show in Cedar Rapids
This is our Youth Scholarship Show. Equine Marketing Group will be
employing IQHYA members to help work in show management during
this show. The "wages" for the workers will be paid directly to
the IQHA Dollars For Scholars Youth Scholarship Program. This is a
great chance for IQHYA members to participate in a fundraising
activity (earn points for your scholarship) and get a taste of
running a horse show.
2003 ISU Block & Bridle Show, April, Des Moines
The IQHYA will be holding a used clothing/tack
sale during the ISU Block & Bridle Show. Shannon Vroegh is heading

sale. They must be clean, in good condition and priced to include
a 10% donation to the IQHYA. Items not sold will need to be picked
up by the end of the show. More information on this will be coming
