The 1st District IQHA affiliate is pleased to announce Kent Feeds as the major corporate sponsor of the 4-H/FFA Clinic and Open Show to be held Feb 20 and 21, 2010 at the Iowa Equestrian Center at Kirkwood College, Cedar Rapids, IA. The clinic starts at 10:00 a.m. on Feb 20 and features Jackie Carter and Sara Walter as clinicians. Jackie holds judging cards with PtHA, ABRA, IBHA, POAC, and 4-H in 4 states. There are also several "mini-clinics" held throughout the day on "Nutrition for Fitting and Performance", Greg Powers, Kent Feeds; "Optimizing Physical Performance", Dr. Christine Woodford; "Dressing for Success", Mikki Hager of the Tack Room; and "Fitting for Success", Jill Voss and Jane Goettsch.
On that same day, ISU in conjunction with the IQHA will be holding a Ring Steward Certification Seminar in a classroom at the Iowa Equestrian Center. This seminar will focus on Ring Steward duties and scribing training. Assisting with this clinic will be Steve Carter, NSBA judge and past NSBA board member who is also carded with PtHA, ABRA, IBHA, POAC, and 4-H in 7 states. And finally, on the evening of Feb 20 and Sunday, Feb 21, 2010, the 1st District IQHA and Kent Feeds will be hosting an open show with gaming classes on the evening of Feb 20 which feature two classes that are $25 entry fee with an 80% jackpot. They are Open Barrels and Open Poles. On Sunday, Feb 21, is an open performance horse show with $3/class entry fees. There is a special reining class with a $25 entry fee that has an 80" jackpot.
